Week of Monday, 9/21/26 – Friday, 9/25/26
** Parents – If I give math HW Workbook pages, please do not go ahead and do other pages. If you go ahead, it confuses students because they didn’t learn the material yet. Thank you!
** There are still a handful of forms that I do not have. It is very important I receive the Handbook Form and the Hold Harmless Form. Both can be found on the SMRS website under “Important Forms” – TY!
- Monday – Jack Be Nimble – Sentence Worksheet – will be in your child’s take-home folder
- Pretzel money due today, 9/21 if you want your child to receive a pretzel on Wednesday, 9/23. If you forgot to send it in today, no worries! Send it in tomorrow – we will still accept late pretzel orders.
- Tuesday – Handwriting workbook pgs. 6 & 7
- Performance Assessment Tests – no studying required, but may want to practice at home. Students will be given a piece of paper and they will have to draw the lines / figures close to, or exactly, like the examples given.
- Wednesday – STUDY for Ch. 1 Math test tonight – the best way to study with your child is to review pages from Ch. 1 in the Big Math Book!
- Half day at noon dismissal (Teacher In-Service) – no lunch needed! Snack(s) / drinks only. No snack needed if you ordered a pretzel for your child.
- Parents – I will be out today, 9/23, due to my husband’s surgery. Anything you need, please make sure to call the office and notify them, as I will not be as available as usual. I’ll return on Thursday. Thank you!
- Thursday – Math workbook pg. 8
- Friday – Recitation of Nursery Rhymes Assessment – practice rhyming words and simple nursery rhymes with your child. Nursery Rhymes that we have been going over in class were sent home last week.
- *** Just to clarify because I know there were some questions and concerns – students will only be tested on ONE Nursery Rhyme, not all of them! Whichever nursery rhyme your child is most confident in, that is the one he/she can recite to me.
- NO HOMEWORK ON WEEKENDS! HAVE AN AWESOME WEEKEND 🙂
- Fun Friday for KB 🙂 Send in extra blankets/pillows for cozy vibes!

- Pretzels – on half days, soft pretzels will be sold for $1. If you would like your child to receive a soft pretzel for our half day on Wednesday, 9/23, PLEASE SEND IN THE MONEY ON MONDAY, 9/21. Make sure the $1 is put in an envelope with your child’s name, grade, and labeled “pretzel money”
- BIRTHDAYS – We love birthdays in KB! For your child’s birthday, please feel free to send in goodies of any kind so we can have a celebration: cupcakes, cookies, soft pretzels, snacks, etc.
- Wednesday, 9/23 – noon dismissal – NO LUNCH – snack(s) and drinks only (Teacher In-Service)
- At the end of each month, your child’s sleep-mat will be sent home to be washed. Please make sure you send it back after it is washed – I usually send it home over the weekend to give parents more time.
- Kindergarten boys do not have to wear belts – it’s a struggle for them to get them on and off at bathroom time. Unless their pants are too big and they require a belt, please do not send your son into school with a belt.
- Per Sr. Dianna, Kindergarten girls are not permitted to wear nail polish or hoop earrings of any kind – not even “huggy” hoops that are close to their ear-lobes. Studs or non-dangly earrings only please!
- Please make sure to check your child’s take-home folders EVERY NIGHT and send them back into school every day – there is a “correspondence” side and a “keep at home” side.
- Parents – if you haven’t already, please send in the Kindergarten supply fee of $65 – thank you!
- ALL FORMS sent home in your child’s take-home folder need to be sent back ASAP!
- Any changes for your child’s dismissal or anything in general, please send it in writing via handwritten note or email – even if you call the office, please still let me know directly.
- Please make sure you’re labeling everything your child brings into school – lunch boxes, sweaters, sweatshirts, etc. – things often get mixed up in Kindergarten, and if items aren’t labeled it makes it harder – thank you!
*** Anticipated Test Schedule for the week of 9/21/26: ***
- There will be a PRE-TEST this week on Reading – there is nothing you need to do at home to prepare or study with your child, as they are not being graded on this “test.” I am pre-testing them solely to see where they’re at with their early reading and comprehension skills. The test will consist of blending of sounds to create words, and each student has to identify the word I am saying when blending each sound.

- Friday, 9/25 – Recitation of Nursery Rhymes Assessment (Verbal Test)
- Ch. 1 Math Test – Thursday, 9/24
